Hi everyone! This post doesn't have pictures of nails..but it is nail related! I was going through my polish collection, and started thinking about all the different types polishes I have. Well..that idea spawned into this, a list of polishes that I know all you fellow polish collectors know too well! I hope all of you find it as amusing as I do!
Polishes That We All Have
The Tease- The polish that you love but you're afraid to wear because it's discontinued and you don't have a back up bottle.
The Senior- One of the first polishes you owned. Now it's all thick and you don't really like the color anymore but you keep it anyway because it has memories.
The Ugly One- The polish that you absolutely hate in every way but you keep it anyway to laugh at how weird it is.
The Superficial- The polish that looks fantastic in the bottle but is all kinds of ugly when you try to put it on.
The Rocky Road- The polish that always insists on being lumpy.
The Hater- The polish that always looks great on every skin tone except yours. You want to love it..but it doesn't love you back.
The Multiplier- That one shade of polish color that you can't stop yourself from buying every time you see it.
The Ex- The polish that used to be your favorite but now sits in the back of your stash collecting dust.
Water- It might as well be it, since it's about that thickness anyway.
The Sheer-ness Monster- No amount of coats will ever satisfy it.
The Beast- The polish that you like but never wear because it's a giant pain in the butt to remove.
...
So there you have it! A list of all the oddball polishes you may or may not have lurking in your collection.
So..what's your "tease"? Or "senior"? I want to know what other types you have in your stash! :P

Pacman Nail Art
Hi everyone! Okay, yesterday I was looking at the polish I had on, Color Club Beyond (You can find my review of it here) I love that polish, and I wanted to do something really cool with it, so I decided to do some nail art. After a while of thinking, I decided on a really cool design. I've seen a bunch of people do this before, so it's not exactly original, but I couldn't resist the idea!
Pacman nails! I used to love this game when I was younger! Although I wasn't all that great at it..my uncle is the Pacman champion in my family. I still had a great time playing it, even though I died a lot. One thing that confused me though..is the name of the orange ghost. I've seen it as both Sue and Clyde. I always thought that they should pick one and stick to it. Hah.
So anyway..heres what you do to make the ghosts if you want to do the design too:
1. Paint your nails with 1-2 coats of Color Club Beyond. Let that dry.
2. Outline make a U shape following the base of the nail on all your fingers except the thumb. I did this using a tooth pick with Wet n Wild black creme.
3. Make a horizontal zig zag connecting the ends of the U on all the nails except the thumb.
4. Fill in the outline with your desired color. I used Nail Ritz Ruby for Blinky, LA Colors Unnamed for Pinky, Essie Mint Candy Apple for Inky, and Nail Ritz Mandarin for Clyde/Sue. Let it dry.
5. Make two big dots of white side by side. I used Sinful Colors Snow Me White.
6. Carefully make two smaller dots inside the white ones. I made them a little off center so the ghost looks like its looking to the side.
And you're done!

Color Club Beyond Review and Swatches
Okay, today I have to show you a polish that was on my ISO list for a long time. I saw pictures of it and I went "I need this.."..probably in a little bit of a creepy voice.
It started when I saw pictures of the Color Club halo hues. Let me tell you..all these babies are like OMG RAINBOWS. They all look gorgeous, and someday I will own them all. But today I just have one that was sent to me in a polish gift exchange I participated in.
It's called Beyond, and it's a black holo. In the shade it just looks grey with silver shimmer but step in the sun and it just goes crazy.
I can't stop going outside to look at it more. To me it looks like rainbow fire on a bed of coals.
So..onto the review!
Application
The formula was great. I used two coats but you could get away with one. It was smooth and didn't flood my cuticles at all.
Look
In the bottle it's awesome, on the nails it's awesome. What more is there to say?
Price
This one was given to me but it retails for $10. I'd love it if it were cheaper, but I can definitely forgive the price because it's so beautiful. Worth every penny in my opinion. They could probably get away with charging more.
Overall
Just try to guess my opinion of this one. Take a wild shot at it. ;) I love this. I really want every single one in the collection. The next halo hue I have my eye on is Angel Kiss, a gorgeous sea foam green holo. Hopefully I'll get my hands on it soon.
So..do you like holographic polish as much as I do? Tell me in the comments, i'd love to hear from you.
In the meantime, happy painting. :)

Rainbow Fish Inspired Nail Art
When I was a kid, one of my favorite books was "The Rainbow Fish" by Marcus Pfister. For those of you who've never read it, its about a beautiful fish who has beautifully colored scales, along with many special silver scales. He's really proud of his scales, and brags about them to the other fish. None of the other fish have any silver scales, so they get sad and jealous of Rainbow Fish. Some of them ask Rainbow Fish if he'll give them just one silver scale, but he says no. Eventually all the other fish don't want to be friends with him anymore. Long story short, Rainbow Fish eventually learns that sharing is important in friendship, and he shares the silver scales with the other fish. It really is a nice story.
But anyway..getting back on track..here's what I came up with.
What I did was I used Nail Ritz pearlized white to outline the scales, then went over the lines in Wet n Wild Black Creme. Then I filled in the scales with Nail Ritz Electric Blue, Nail Ritz Indigo, Nail Ritz Berrylicious, and Milani Cyberspace. For my thumb I used NYC Tribeca Silver. I think it turned out pretty cute.
Heres a picture of my inspiration..the books cover.
So..have you read "The Rainbow Fish"?
Happy Painting :P

A Great Spring Color! LA Colors Mint Review and Swatch
Hi everyone! Happy saturday. :) I'm glad its finally the weekend after a week of hard work in class! Today I have for you a cute little polish that I actually found in Family Dollar a while back! They had two buckets of mini LA colors polishes, all for a great price each! So naturally.. I couldn't resist, and picked out a polish thats perfect for Spring!
Application
I didn't have any big application problems, but I didn't try to wear it by itself because it seemed sheer when I swatched it in my swatch book. Neons also tend to stain nails, so I wore two coats of it over Sinful Colors Snow Me White. That worked great.
Look
I really like this! It's perfect for spring, and I love that it didn't have that dull semi-matte finish that some neons tend to have. It's also really bright, the color drove my camera crazy. It took me a while to get a picture where the color and my skin tone looked accurate. Most of the time I got pictures that made my hand look like it belonged to a zombies. Heres one of the fail pictures for laughs.
Yeah..it looks like I have radioactive fingernails! Haha. But seriously, the real color is beautiful. I'll definitly be wearing it again!
Price
This is the best part. It was only 60 cents! Yeah, you heard me right! It's not a bad size for a mini either, 4.9 ml! Thats more then OPI, China Glaze, and Covergirl minis hold, for a fraction of the price!
Overall
I'm definitely pleased with this polish, and will be buying more of the mini colors next time i'm in Family Dollar! I'd recommend that if you live near an almost dollar store (Like family dollar or dollar general), you might want to take a look if you can! They have a good variety of colors and you can buy one with change that you might have in the bottom of your bag(that is, if you're like me and tend to just toss change in there. I have an extreme over abundance of random pennies in my purse :P)!
So..will you be on the lookout for these? Are you a fan of neon colors? Please tell me in the comments..your comments are always more then welcome!
In the meantime, happy painting! :)
| LA Colors Mint- 2 coats over Sinful Colors Snow Me White |
It's from the LA Colors Color Craze mini line, and it's called Mint. Although the name really doesn't match the color, since its a bright neon rather then a mint green. LA colors sometimes seems to get color names wrong. I have another polish from them thats called "Magenta" but it's actually a dark plum purple color. Sometime i'll show you that one, its an interesting polish. But getting back on track..heres my review of "Mint".

Sally girl Ice Cream Shoppe Swatches
Okay..so a few weeks ago I was in Sally's Beauty Supply (I love that place, seriously the best store ever), and before I checked out I noticed they had a new Sally girl collection on display for March. The collection is called Ice Cream Shoppe, and it consists of cute pastels with small black glitter in it. I picked up a few of them..because they looked adorable and the price can't be beaten at .99 cents each. So I have two of them to share with you today!
First up is Chocolate Chip, a milky white polish with small black glitter. First I tried it by itself, this is three coats.
I wasn't really happy with the way it looked on it's own. The black glitter went a little wild..and it just looked a little weird to me. So I took it off and put two coats over one coat of Sinful Colors Snow Me White.
I like it layered over white more. I think it looks more even.
Next is Mint Chip, a mint green polish with small black glitter. I didn't try to apply it by itself and I'll tell you why. When I removed three coats of Chocolate Chip, the black glitter went EVERYWHERE. It took me forever to get all of the little specks off of my fingers and I think I still have a few that I missed left on there! So..I didn't want to put more coats of this polish then I had to.
So here it is in two coats over Sinful Colors Snow Me White.
I think the effect of both polishes is adorable. I like Chocolate Chip a little better then Mint Chip..maybe because it blended well with the white polish underneath and because I like the finish a little more. It seems to be a little less cloudy looking when dried. But I do like both polishes. Pastels are great for spring and the ice cream look is so cute!
So..what do you think of them? Do you like food inspired polish as much as I do? I'd love to hear from you! :)

Cherry Lemonade Nail Art
Hello beautiful people! Okay, over the last few weeks I've been buying a whole bunch of new polishes..it's just taken me a while to translate them into posts. But yeah, I've got a really nice swatch line up for you over the next few weeks, but I figured I'd take a break from the swatches and give you some nail art!
I'm really starting to get into the spring and summer mood lately, especially summer. I can't wait to be sitting by the pool, sipping cherry lemonade..
And that image, my friends, was what made me think about this design! What other way to show my impatience for Summer to get here then with some nail art inspired by the perfect summer drink!
And voila!
Cute right? I think so! Heres what you can do if you want to create this look on your own nails!
1. Paint your nails with an opaque yellow polish. I actually used two coats of Golden from a nail ritz shimmer nail art pen set I have, and then a coat of Sally Hansen Lite(From the HD collection!) over it. Since both of those yellow polishes aren't as common, I'll say that just about any yellow polish looks great for this. I used lemony yellow because..well..lemonade..but if you choose to do this go with an opaque yellow. And the finish doesn't matter much either! I think it looks cute whichever way! Shimmer..frost..creme..whatever floats your boat! Anyway..
2. Add some red polish across the tips. I think jelly red looks best here. I used NYC Broadway Burgundy Frost.
3. I again used NYC Broadway Burgundy Frost for the two dots of the cherries, which I added using a toothpick, but would probably be done easier using a dotting tool. Then I used another toothpick to paint the stem of the cherries with Wet n Wild Sagreena the Teenage Witch.
So yeah, I love the overall effect, I think it's cute for spring and summer!
So..what are you going to be doing once summer (finally) gets here? What are you doing in the meantime with Spring? And the most important question of all..whats your favorite summertime drink? :) I'd love to hear from you in the comments!
